Social security contributions in South Sudan are as per the following:
An amount of 8% of the basic salary shall be deducted from the employee’s salary and shall remain with the employer or third party agent and shall be paid to the employee when his contract comes to an end.
This is because the National Insurance Fund is not active anymore (or at least to the time being).
The employer shall from his side contribute with an amount equal to 17% of the employee’s basic salary but shall also keep said amount with him or with a third party manpower provider because the National Insurance Fund is not active for the time being.
Subscriptions shall not be paid for the month in which the service of the employee has been terminated, notwithstanding the number of days he actually served, except for the case where the termination concerns a seasonal employee.
Subscriptions shall be payable for the full month, regardless of the actual number of days of work per month, except for the case where the matter is related to a seasonal employee. The social security contributions are applicable for local and for expatriate employees without any distinction in the rates.
